Morra is a family of winegrowers, for three generations.
In Verduno, Cuneo province, they produce great quality wines within "Langhe" territory, Piedmont region.
The mainly production is dedicated to wines produced by Nebbiolo vine variety. So, Barolo, Barolo "Monvigliero", Langhe Nebbiolo and "Rosato".
But in their vineyards produce "Verduno Pelaverga", Barbera d'Alba D.O.C. and Chardonney also.
Within their production there are red wines represented by Verduno Pelaverga DOC, Barolo DOCG Zinzasco, Barolo DOCG Monvigliero, Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore Le Schiene, Langhe DOC Nebbiolo Il Sarto.
Morra represents the perfect balance between tradition and modernity. We recognize a great
care and passion in what they do. They choose areas taking in count the right features for that
determined kind of grapes as exposure, soil characteristics and in production, different kind to produce it: time of fermentation, temperatures, rackings, ageing.
We can find it in the flavours and aromas of their wines.
Barolo D.O.C.G. Monvigliero 2016
An elegant and fragrant red wine. Its colour is garnet with harmonious aromas of ripe fruit, rose, scents of slighty spices.
Then, the right amount of tannins also stands out in the mouth.
The production of Monvigliero is made by a low yeld, which means a selection of best grapes only.
Verduno Pelaverga D.O.C.
Produced by "Pelaverga piccolo" vine (piccolo=small) another splendid wine
which impresses with its variety and pleasantness of aromas. A short fermentation
(4-6 days) at the must temperature no more than 25° C with many pumping
over and racking in about 7-8 days to best preserve the varietal aromas.
Wine continue fermentation and ageing in stainless steel containers for
about 6 months.
Production area
The vineyards are located in Verduno, Cuneo province, Piedmont region.
They are about 30 hectares (1 ha=10.000mq=107.639 ft²) distributed with
16 ha of Nebbiolo vine, 7,5 ha of Barbera, 3,5 ha Langhe Nebbiolo, 2,5 ha Dolcetto,
1 ha Pelaverga.
